Who We Are

Dr. Matthews and the staff at Saluda Veterinary Hospital have been serving the pets of Saluda, NC since 2001. Our small animal practice is made up of talented veterinary professionals who are passionate about animals and who take care of each pet as if it were their own.


Dr. Kevin Matthews, D.V.M.
Dr. Matthews earned his undergraduate degree at Purdue University before attending the prestigious Mississippi State University and obtaining a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, Dr. Matthews worked in Western North Carolina serving the community before opening Saluda Veterinary Hospital in June 2001. Dr. Matthews enjoys making lasting relationships with clients and pets, and treating them throughout all stages of life.

Really, really love and highly respect Doc Matthews!! At the end of the pandemic when our beloved terrier suddenly became critically ill, Dr. Matthews and staff welcomed us face to face with no masks and treated us and our precious girl ZuZu with tenderness and kindness. We now have both of our babies with them and wouldn't go anywhere else! We can't say enough how thankful we are to have found this practice. Dr. Matthews and his team are AWESOME and we HIGHLY recommend them!!10 Stars for sure!!**********
